Rather interesting the issue at hand, since that popup should not appear to normal users, only developers/validators, and even then, it's a hollow popup, since it don't say what implementation has been updated or the name of the developer. Try disabling all the other extensions and enable them one by one. Also, provide a list of them to use our machines to test as well, to have a test case.

If I have to guess, the gmail one, seems likely the problem since it shows no number.

Umm... tried with each one of them... nothing wrong, some combination perhaps? Also, export your data from chrome and do a full uninstall, check %localappdata%\Google\Chrome\ has to be empty and install AMR again, along with all your extension, see if that works.

As of today, I just had the exact same problem. Endless spamming about development update, I close out Chrome, I open it back up and all my information is wiped clean.

Yes, this is not the first time I've had this issue, come to the forums and whined, then sucked it up and just uninstalled/reinstalled. But it's getting really, really old.

Is there any chance you could just allow the option of disabling updates? Because other than that, AMR is just about perfect for my wants and I use it a lot.

But as it is, I'm going to need to start storing my export information offline somewhere, and update it all the damn time- and that's really a pain to deal with.

The problem is, that as matter of fact, we haven't released new implementation in 2 weeks, also the message that appears to you as if you were developer/validator, there is no a valid reason that anyone get those message (unless they are devs/validator). Only ideas I get is some other extension were interfering with AMR, malware, or your corrupted chrome database. Also, you haven't mentioned if you tried uninstall chrome as I explained the post before.

@AtomRaj, sorry, but is the first time that you have posted anything since April, so I don't know where you are coming from, but, in any case can you please, try uninstall chrome first, wipe clean the directory mentioned.

Yes, as mentioned. The time in April was the last time it happened- and I was looking for ways to deal with it then. At present I've tried disabling AMR and bringing it back the next time I opened Chrome, but while it's tiresome I'll go ahead and uninstall all my stuff a little bit later. So far, 'all my stuff' covers a fair area.

Oh, and you wanted to see extensions, right?

You can export your bookmarks using the Bookmarks Manager, extensions usually have some export function, so AMR has one too. When you uninstall and install everything wait couple minutes for AMR to download everything it needs to download (believe me, is lots of things, you can check in chrome://net-internals/#sockets, when it finish you shouldn't see any connection to any of our supported websites), then close and open chrome, that should settle it.

Finally managed to clear out my tablist and take care of uninstall/reinstall, and I'm quite certain AMR will work again... Minus all my data, because I couldn't export a damn thing after the developerspam wiped out everything. So now I'm stuck with reconstructing it all again, based on fearsomely outdated information and best guesses; this is all something I have to deal with, dislike, but have accepted and am moving on with.

The part I'm worried about is the part where this happens AGAIN sometime in the unspecified future, and everything once again gets shot to hell. As I mentioned, I dearly love the functionality and usefulness of AMR, I think it's a wonderful tool and am glad to use it to keep track of my mangas and read them properly-

But a drawback of 'wipes out all your data every so often for no reason' is a pretty damn big drawback.

...Hmm, may have spoken too soon. Now I can't even open up the options, despite having uninstalled the browser, wiping everything, and reinstalling it with a new installation of AMR. And I have no idea why that's happening.
