All Mangas Reader

I'd like to be able to search manga by genre and or author/artist when available. it would be really awesome if there was a tags and tag search feature too, tho that seems a bit difficult.

Yeah, well the search searches tins of sites at the same time and they all use different genre naming methods, so that would be extremely difficult... As for the tags, i'm not sure I understand what you're asking for?

I don't think its worth the effort, mainly because the functionality of each site is quite different to another, so you'd need to create and maintain a specific search script for each.

Also, why bother when you have http://www.mangaupdates.com? It may not offer downloads or viewers, but its the best place to search for new manga to read (and it does have tags). You just need the name(s), then you're set: a quick AMR search and presto.

This functionnality will be very difficult to implement and maintain because all web site have different kind of genre to classify their mangas...
Moreover some of them don't have this information...

I hope this will be implemented through the new website one day...

I can understand why genre searches might be difficult to implement, but what about searches by author?

Well, as a suggestion to work around this issue, maybe a more detailed "database search" could be added to AMR. It would just do a search on Mangaupdates to find what one wants (genres, tags, etc.), then you can start searching for the manga you found with the main AMR search.

Also, since its just mangaupdates and not each and every mangahost, mantaining the built-in search would be easy since they've used the same system for years.
