All Mangas Reader

A little while back I noticed my unread notification wouldn't update, whether new manga updated or all manga was read it would always show the same number. I decided to uninstall and reinstall AMR and now have a much worse problem: importing my manga list won't stick.

When I restart chrome (or disable and reenable AMR) the list always clears back to empty, bookmarks don't revert though. If I leave chrome open AMR will function like normal except for the fact that the unread number stays at zero and will never update. This occurs in both 1.5.4 and the beta 1.5.4.2. I've updated chrome to the latest version (29.0.1547.62 m) and still have the issue, I've also uninstalled chrome completely and have installed only AMR and still get the same issue. If I turn on synchronization a bookmark is made which upon checking in the bsync tool has no errors but won't be used to synchronize, even though AMR reports that it's synchronized recently the list stays empty.

My list is quite large with 543 entries (unique and mirrors) but this issue doesn't occur in the chrome canary track (current version 31.0.1617.1), problem with that is chrome canary can't be the default browser. I'm at a loss as to what to do to fix it save for re-adding everything one at a time, which would be a real pain. I'd include my export, but didn't want to put a giant wall of text and can't attach a text file to my post.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits end.

I too have this problem. After I got back from a long vacation over the summer I started chrome and got attacked by a wave of "new chapter-pop ups", which wasn't really unexpected. However, after reading some manga and going to sleep, the next day I got the same wall of pop-ups, for the same mangas. And after some experimenting I noticed that it does record reading progress as long as you don't close chrome, but if you restart chrome, it's all gone.

So I tried exporting my mangas, clearing my AMR list, and then re-importing them. This made the daily pop-ups stop, but AMR is still having trouble keeping track of updates, It does update mangas when new chapters arrive, but it only shows 15 unread, while I have >100 unread.
It doesn't "forget" my reading progress anymore though (I think, It's only been two days since, and it did sometimes remember progress before my export-import fix).

I had this problem yesterday also, I just uninstalled and reinstalled AMR and that seemed to fix the problem for me. Just be sure to have a backup of your list just in case it doesnt solve the problem for you. I also had sync on so it would save into my bookmarks for safe measure. Also, 543 entries seems like a lot of entries if it's just mangas (not including bookmarks, because I'm well over 4000 in that area).

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue with Chromium Version 29.0.1547.57 Built, AMR Git version, no syncing activated and wasn't able to reproduce this issue. Could you share your mangas list, or more details observations? Could you also activate the "Developers mode" in the extension page, then inspect the _generated_background_page.html and look for errors?

Downloaded the feature/backup_repo from github and that works better, everything imported and the list persists upon restart. For a little bit it worked fine and then started having some occasional issues again. The read chapters will occasionally revert on restart back to unread, during a session the unread notification icon will not always update as items are read or as new items appear (right after restart new unread manga will cause the unread number to increase but anything found once the browser is running will not). This is essentially the problem I was initially having which caused me to uninstall in the first place, but is not as bad and worlds better than the list not importing at all. Also the problems seems to occur much more often (but not exclusively) when the browser is under load (either many pages or otherwise using a significant amount of memory) or if the browser is closed quickly after a change to AMR was made (e.g. manually mark a chapter as read and then close the browser shortly after upon restart the marked entry will still show as new). Only really been testing for a day and a half though.

Also I used notepad to edit the list in half to 264 entries and that seems to work fine with v1.5.4. Did a clean reinstall of chrome and the stable version to get the info you asked for, not sure how useful it'll be considering the problems seem to be lessened on the github version you all are working on.
