All Mangas Reader

Hi, I'm the author of the greasemonkey script (a script for reading comics, mangas, and stuff), and was asked some time ago to make the script work along with AMR.

To be honest I'm not really an AMR user, mainly because I use Firefox, though I did try it on Chrome and seems to be very cool
From what I saw, AMR and WCR can work together sometimes. WCR has 2 "layouts": there's the minimalistic layout where it strips all the content of the page and leaves just the image and a couple buttons, and the full layout where it places that content where the image used to be, without touching anything else. When using the minimalistic layout, it removes the AMR stuff along with the rest of the page, but I'd be able to keep it with a few modifications. When using the full layout, they both seemed to work fine on mangafox, but AMR took over on mangareader.

So, the request would be to have an option to disable the "reader" part of AMR on a site so that WCR can work, while I'd add support for AMR with the minimalistic layout. I'd also like to know if WCR breaks anything else on AMR so I can try to work around it, because I only tested it for a while but don't know what other features I may be breaking.

Hey ameboide! I'm a long loooong time user of WCR and also AMR... I love WCR and use it on every non-manga site. However, on all sites that AMR reads, I always turn off webcomic reader by pressing "Disable for this site" in my Tapermonkey menu... I found that although full mode doesn't break anything, I prefer using minimalistic mode, and even then I prefer AMR's reader. (This, of course, is not to say that I don't see some benefits to wcr vs. amr, specifically speed, but it's just personal preference). Apart from the reader, what other benefits would disabling the "reader" part of AMR on a site give users? AMR is getting faster and faster, as well as more feature rich, and has many benefits that have not been implemented in WCR at this time...

Would this just be for those that prefer WCR reader but still want to keep track of their chapters using AMR? I don't quite understand what this will bring to users.

Again, I *love* your script, and use it all the time. <3 But, (again, maybe this is just personal preference) I prefer AMR's reader for chapter long manga. =/

Personnaly, i don't use WCR... but if you want to disable the 'reader' part of AMR, just uncheck the option "While reading a manga, display the whole chapter instead of the current page"
The "normal" page of the website will be preserved but AMR will still register the chapters you are reading...

Better integration with Webcomic Reader would be a godsend. AMR's ability to easily manage the reading progress and the notifications about new chapters are a huge comfort win. Yet I prefer WCR's minimal mode with images made to exactly fit my screen height and width (maintaining the correct ratio, of course) by far compared to AMR's mode which only shrinks certain images horizontally, thus forcing me to scroll up and down to see the entire image. In fact, I really didn't read that many manga online due to aforementioned ergonomic reasons until I discovered WCR and now I'm pretty much addicted.

So pretty please with sugar on top make AMR work with WCR's minimal mode. Alternatively replicating WCR's minimal mode including its image shrinking/stretching capabilities in AMR would be fine with me as well.

I tried that and unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me. Once I turn on WCR's minimal layout AMR stops registering which chapter I'm currently reading.

That may be due to the ajaxy nature of WCR. When you change chapters, the page won't be reloaded and AMR probably depends on that to track your progress.
However, you'll notice that when you change pages the URL still changes, because WCR uses the history API to change it without actually leaving the starting page. AMR should be able to figure out the current chapter with that (I guess you could poll the location.href every few seconds or something like that)

A watcher in location.href may be enough, but I'm speaking just by hypothesis, I never used the history API so I don't know if it would actually work.
