Hi! I'm just a "regular user" and I just wanted to post my outside point of view on this situation: AMR is a wonderful tool for aggregating manga reading across all manga sites. It not only allows you to have manga from different web sites but it also sync's your reading list on all your devices. From a user point of view this is almost perfect (still not on your phone or tablet Now the problem is the other side of the coin: the manga providers - or the web sites that may get hurt by the usage of AMR. There was previously stupid attritions between AMR and some manga providers like mangastream and the way it went was just wrong (basically MS tilled the mangas and putted them together with JS and according to the dev at that time they weren't very open to discussion of compromises). What I purpose is a compromise: state the requirements for AMR mechanism (advertising banners loading rules, image loading rules, what calls are necessary for your points system, usage of top (or left) banners when reading, etc). This way you allow your readers to use AMR and minimize/obliterate the negative impact it has on your website. It can also potentially improve your website performance and lower bandwidth usage since it will not require to load all theme resources for each page. If people are using AMR on your website it's because it goes toward their needs and instead of blocking it try to welcome it |

Very true, thank you for responding Muddymind. We also made concessions with Batoto, and Polo has agreed to speak with you about leaving advertising on the page and such. http://community.allmangasreader.com/co ... &from=bugs |

I read it... thanks ! (I receive emails when someone PM me...) So, I am a supporter of doing everything the websites want... no conflict... I just fought mangastream in the past... but it was another story.......... I am not sure of what they want here... do you mean that only one page must be show on amante anime with AMR ??? If that is the case, that will be quite difficult... |

They want a behavior similar to when we don't use "While reading a manga, display the whole chapter instead of the current page" so we don't modify the layout. Summary they want to know how many pages their readers read (?) and witch one... don't ask me why... |

From what I've understood about the site (there might be a few mistakes), its because they apparently display different ads every time the viewer changes pages. BS if you ask me, but well, whatever. I don't read from their mirror anyway. There's a certain greasemonkey extension that probably conflicts with those "interests" as well, but meh, let them think we're the only bad guys here. My friendly advice is to just let them have their way. As I see it, if AMR has to load ads for EVERY single page of the chapter, that's the same as just using the default viewer. By the way, I'm not a developer but just your average forum user, so I hope my comment doesn't spark a stupid flame war against AMR since this is not AMR's possition on the issue. And my native language is spanish, so I doubt I misread something. |
