Hi all !! and Happy new Year... Sorry, I was on holidays and I didn't take time to read all your posts This forum is more and more active these times I want to thank you all for helping AMR to live on through this forum (especially Someone516, mexicano21, Kojiro_S and those I forgot !), you helped me a lot. Here is what I will try to do in 2012 : - Continue to maintain AMR. 1.3.13 will come soon - Try to make a new version which will be compatible for Chrome, Firefox and even Opera and Safari by using Kango (a cross browser extensions framework). Some features will be specific so there will be some regressions for Chrome in the first place... - Try to publish the new website (something like MyAnimeList on which you will be able to have a profile, to synchronize your manga list online and to share with others) As you can see, it's a lot of work... and unfortunately I have less time than before... But I hope you will continue to enjoy AMR and that it will fulfill your expectations ! Thank you all ! Polo |

That's some massive goal you've set. However, I don't think it's such a good idea to take the brunt of all users' profiles on your server. MAL has had several issues due to its massive database being updated quite often, so unless you've got access to more than one backup server, maybe the hosted profiles should be put on hold. I am quite delighted with the cross platform possibility for AMR, since I like going back to Firefox's engine every now and then. I'm also an active freeware hunter (even if it's ad supported, as long as its just embedded and not popping up). |

I was thinking on porting to Firefox without the need of a cross-platform framework, to get the best every browser can offer. But if there's no much downgrades on Chrome and there's no major performance issue, maybe it's better that way. Not that I really think Opera and Safari (next to Firefox I think comes Android support) really matters, but it would be good having them anyway. |

Yeah, we *really* need a captcha. Doing this daily is starting to grate my nerves... |

Well, ... sorry about that but there is a captcha since two months ago and it seems to be the more secure... (reCaptcha) If anyone knows what I can do to prevents bots from passing through reCaptcha... I will do it at once... |

They shouldn't be able to bypass reCaptcha. Most likely they registered in hordes long before that and were just laying dormant. |
